Testing & Assessment
In addition to world-class training programs, Berlitz Canada offers a comprehensive testing program that helps employers assess the language proficiency of current and prospective staff members. On the basis of our evaluation we specify clearly, accurately, and succinctly, what an individual can do with the skills he or she demonstrated during the examination. The oral examination, which is conducted on an individual basis and exclusively in the test language, can be conducted via telephone. This proprietary proficiency testing method is widely regarded amongst linguists as the most accurate and reliable tool for assessing language proficiency.
An individual`s performance in the Berlitz Oral Proficiency Evaluation is assessed in terms of:
- Linguistic Competence, as evidenced by breadth of vocabulary, morphological accuracy, correctness of grammatical usage, and the relative complexity and sophistication of expression
- Facility, that is, the ease and fluency of expression
- Pronunciation, specifically as it relates to intelligibility
Candidates can be assessed based on standardized Berlitz levels of proficiency or to your company`s proficiency levels. Our EASy system (English Assessment System) is a user-friendly, browser-based reporting tool that allows you to generate consolidated summary reports of testing results within hours of test administration.
